Penguin CBD Gummies Reviews
In a world where everyone is selling CBD, it’s hard to tell who has quality goods and who doesn’t. That’s why we’re writing about Penguin’s product line — it’s superior to the rest.
Here we are. It’s 2020, and CBD rules the world. But, I’ve got a confession to make: Until recently, I felt like the last person on Earth who hadn’t tried CBD. I wanted to; I was determined to. I longed to experience all the benefits of CBD — who doesn’t want to sleep better, relax deeper, focus more, or enjoy more balance in their life? I just didn’t know where to start.
With the market place so flooded, I felt overwhelmed and confused about CBD. What is it, extactly? What’s the difference between CBD oil and a gummy or a capsule? And, for the love of all that’s green, what the hell does rubbing CBD on your body do? How do you know if a product is good?
This only changed because I haphazardly conducted a series of experiments by randomly trying whatever CBD oils, creams, candies, and other products that were immediately available to me. I was hopeful. But a lot of trials felt like errors. Until I happened upon Penguin.
Penguin: Perfection in CBD Form
After consulting the social media oracle for some good CBD brand suggestions, several responders quickly and confidently endorsed Penguin.
The name instantly intrigued me. The animal’s unhurried pace, sweet sense of community, and ease-of-living embodied everything I hoped CBD would help me achieve. The cute mascot — a shapely little penguin — plastered across their website further bolstered that good feeling.
Plus, the company’s goal of providing premium-quality CBD items at reasonable rates in the name of “bringing CBD to households everywhere” made me feel like I stumbled upon a brand that could very well be a staple in homes everywhere.
Make Me Understand (Gently): What Is CBD?
Despite testing a ton of CBD products, I still didn’t know what the hell CBD actually was. I understood that it came from the cannabis plant, but that isn’t very specific. That’s when Penguin came to my rescue. The site has a section on their site titled, “What Is CBD?”
Penguin explains that CBD is an acronym for cannabidiol, which is one of the compounds, or cannabinoids, of the hemp plant. For reference, THC is also a cannabinoid. But unlike THC, CBD is non-intoxicating. So, it will not make you feel “high.” It also stimulates the user’s endocannabinoid system, which is our body’s power source that ensures other systems are working in tip-top condition. I also learned that Penguin’s products contain no THC. I appreciated that a lot, considering my aim was to feel chill — not stoned.
Respect the (Penguin) Process
I also really admire that Penguin provides their cultivation practices and how their products are made online. In a world where everyone is selling CBD, but not all CBD is sourced or created equal, it’s important to know these types of details. A company that’s not upfront about where they source their hemp from, if and how they cultivate, and how they make their products, feels shady — even if they’re not.
Penguin states their hemp is grown with zero pesticides on an eco-conscious farm. They even manufacture their hemp through a cutting-edge CO2 extraction process that removes all traces of THC. On top of that, Penguin even posts results from third-party labs so you can verify everything online. This information proved to be more important to me than I realized. It boosted my confidence and made me feel safe. Knowing what you put into your body is a crucial element in maintaining your health.
Penguin CBD Capsules
If we’re being honest, CBD usually doesn’t taste good, unless you like the flavor of concentrated plant matter. Knowing that, I ordered Penguin CBD capsules. I felt like the CBD gods were shining their anti-stress vibes on me when free-shipping came with the purchase. What a lovely surprise!
Once my 30-count of CBD capsules arrived, I popped my first 10mg dose. Within 40 minutes I felt something happening in my body — something I liked. The suggestion on the bottle says to take a second capsule about an hour after the first. So, I did. And I’m thrilled I did because inner peace and focus took over my existence. I definitely did not feel “high.” This was eased-back bliss. I felt like I could do anything. I knew after this experience that Penguin CBD capsules were going to be part of my regular routine. It also motivated me to give their oils a try.
Penguin CBD Oil
Like I wrote earlier, the taste of CBD oil usually sucks. Regardless, I wanted to see if Penguin oils might be better. And, yes. They definitely are.
I started with Penguin’s natural-flavored CBD oil, ordering a 250mg bottle. I never occurred to me previously that I could mix the oil with food or another liquid, until I read it on the back of Penguin’s CBD oil package. So, I filled up the dropper about halfway and put it into a cup of tea.
The experience was spectacular. So, when the bottle neared completion, I opted for a 600mg bottle of the citrus flavor CBD oil. It really jazzed up my morning beverage routine. Getting a zesty dose of cannabidiol in the morning is key to having a day that’s as smooth as velvet.
Following that, I decided to give Penguin’s mint CBD oil a try. I upped the ante and ordered a 1000mg bottle instead of a 600mg one. Once I received it in the mail, I opened the package and instantly placed a sample under my tongue. I held it there for about a minute-and-a-half, and within the following 10 minutes, a warm, low-impact sense of balance and ease overtook my body. I felt like I was walking on clouds.
Now, I keep multiple varieties of Penguin CBD oil stocked in my kitchen, and switch depending on my mood. Regardless of the flavor, my mindset always takes off in a beautiful direction.
Penguin CBD Cream
I have to confess: I had no intention of ever trying CBD cream, because rubbing weed on your body seems like a gimmick of our 420-obsessed times. But, people change, especially when you’re in need. As I ran low on my regular skin cream, it hit me like a ton of bricks that I should try Penguin’s CBD cream, because, why not?
When the cream arrived, the peppermint-lavender scent swooned me at first sniff. I was delighted to use anything that smelled (to quote Outkast) so fresh and so clean.
Without any transition, I used Penguin CBD cream just as I did my other daily wash-up products. There was a noticeable difference! The cream gave my skin a happy glow. I felt bright, youthful, and relaxed. The blissfulness I typically feel on the inside from Penguin products was definitely present now on the outside.
Penguin CBD Gummies
Good CBD gummies are hard to find. I have tried more than a few supposed CBD varieties that have either made me woozy or — even more often — were just regular candies dressed up in bogus “CBD” packaging. Rest assured, Penguin gummies are the real deal.
Like the capsules, each gummy package contains 30 worms individually dosed with 10mg of CBD. The’re are a dynamic treat — they pick-you-up and a chill-you-out at the same time. No other compound triggers that sense of balance.
Do Yourself a Favor: Penguin Up and Chill Out
I’ve been preaching the virtues of Penguin CBD since I first discovered the company, which isn’t something I typically do — even for the things I like. In fact, friends have offered me samples of other brands, and I don’t even really want to try them anymore. It’s pointless! I find that Penguin’s products are consistently superior.
“Keep calm and waddle on!” is the company’s slogan, which is truly a winning philosophy. Thanks to Penguin CBD, I’m now living my best life.
Penguin CBD Review
I love the simplicity of the Penguin CBD lineup. These products look and feel sophisticated, yet everything about this company, from their branding to the ingredients list, is very simple.
If you’re interested in picking up some CBD products from Penguin, I recommend sticking to the 1000 mg or above bottles of oil (the low-potency stuff is a bit overpriced) or the gummies.
I’d place this brand within the premium category of CBD products. There’s clearly a lot of effort and attention put into this brand and the products it carries — which shines through the quality of the final product.
Their closest competitors in terms of quality of branding and products are Royal CBD, Gold Bee, and Verma Farms.
Like most CBD companies, there’s a lot to be desired in terms of the company’s mission or charitable donations. The about us page is vague and nondescript — suggesting that everyone should be able to “keep calm and waddle on,” like a Penguin.
There’s no mention about who’s behind the company on their website or social media channels.
The company does offer a military discount of 25%.
Hemp Source 4/5
Penguin sources all its hemp from Oregon. They claim to use organic hemp and offer all the necessary testing to prove the final product is free from pesticides but does not provide any specific proof about the organic status of their hemp.
Product Range 4/5
The product range is very simple but covers most of the main categories of products we’ve come to expect from CBD companies — CBD oils, CBD capsules, CBD gummies, and a CBD topical.
They’re missing vape products, other edibles, and more specific topical product categories.
Within the oil range, there are 25 separate combinations to choose from — 5 potencies and 5 flavors. This is more options than most companies, which allows customers to really customize their bottle to match their budget, flavor preference, and intended dose of CBD.
There’s nothing really innovative this company is doing. Their products are about as simple and unimaginative as they come.
The saving grace here is the interesting and engaging website they’ve put together. The branding and aesthetic are really nice to look at and interact with.
All the third-party tests we look for when reviewing a CBD company are readily available and thorough.
One caveat I had with this brand was the claim that none of their CBD oils use artificial flavoring. They claim to use natural flavorings.
While this might be semantics, none of the flavorings used are “natural” — they’re synthetic molecules that are modeled after natural elements. With that aside, small amounts of synthetic additives aren’t really an issue, and if you don’t like the idea of using products with added flavors, you can also pick up a bottle without any flavor added at all — they call this one “natural.”
Customer Service 5/5
This company does customer service right. We received a response to our email within about 30 minutes of sending it, and the response we received was clearly written by a real human, without a script. We’ve designed our emails to ask a few key questions about the products, as well as a trick question to test whether we’re getting a real human with subject knowledge on the other end. We were pleasantly surprised to get a solid, well-thought-out answer from the team at Penguin.
Additionally, this brand offers a full money-back guarantee on their products if an email is sent within 30 days from the date of purchase.

About the Company: Penguin CBD
Penguin CBD was created by Deep Patel, a seasoned entrepreneur and author of a book called A Paperboy’s Fable: The 11 Principles of Success.
He started the company when he was just 21 years old and has already grown the brand to become one of the most well-known companies in the space. That’s a huge achievement when you consider how many other CBD companies are competing for this position. Many of these companies are backed by large corporations or venture capital investors with deep pockets.
Deep was able to grow his brand to what it is by keeping the product lineup concise, employing beautiful and engaging branding, and paid sponsorships on websites like the Rolling Stone, Healthline, NY Post, and many others.
Penguin CBD lists its headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

CBD oils and tinctures are, by far, the most popular type of CBD product on the market today. They’re popular because they’re cost-effective, easy to use and deliver the highest customizability in terms of doses. Once you’ve determined how strong the oils you’re using are, you can take as little or as much CBD as you need.
Penguin CBD Oil
5 / 5
|Potency:||8.3 – 166.7 mg/mL|
|Cost per mg CBD:||$0.06 – $0.18|
|THC Content:||0 mg|
Penguin CBD has a lot of options for its CBD oils — which allows you to really customize the product you’re getting to match your budget and taste preference. All oils come in a standard 1 oz (30 mL) bottle and use broad-spectrum (THC-free) hemp extract as the base.
First, there are five different potencies to choose from:
- 250 mg (8.3 mg/mL)
- 600 mg (20 mg/mL)
- 1000 mg (33.3 mg/mL)
- 2500 mg (83.3 mg/mL)
- 5000 mg (166.7 mg/mL)
Second, you can choose between 5 different flavors:
- Natural (unflavored)
- Cookies & Cream
As far as price goes, the 1000, 2500, and 5000 mg bottles are pretty good value, but the lower potency oils are definitely not worth the money. You can get the same quality for much less from other brands. The 250 mg bottle, for example, will cost you 18 cents per mg of CBD — which works out to around nearly $5 for a single dose.
You can save quite a bit (20%) by signing up for their monthly subscription, which can be canceled at any time. This is the best option for people who plan to use CBD products long-term. At this discount, you basically get a free bottle every five months.
2. CBD Gummies

|Total CBD:||300 mg|
|Potency:||10 mg per Gummy|
|Cost per mg CBD:||$0.15|
|Extract Type:||CBD Isolate|
|THC Content:||0 mg|
Penguin CBD gummy worms are straight-up delicious. They’re chewy, sweet, and don’t have any residual hemp taste. I love this style of gummy, which has a slightly sour or tart flavor on the outside and a really sweet chewy middle.
Each worm contains 10 mg of CBD isolate, which I initially thought was a bit too low — but after trying them out, I found it hard to stop at just one gummy. Normally I take between 30 and 40 mg of CBD (I have a high tolerance), so the lower potency lets me take about 3 or 4 of them before I’ve hit my dose.
Some gummies are much higher potency, which forces me to stop eating them after just one or two.
These gummies are great, if not a little bit expensive. You’re going to pay roughly 15 cents per mg, which is about $1.50 per gummy. They aren’t expensive, but there are certainly cheaper options out there.

3. CBD Cream

|Cost per mg CBD:||$0.22|
|THC Content:||0 mg|
CBD topicals are great for use on dry, irritated, or inflamed skin. They’re also great for use on sore muscles or after a workout to prevent sore muscles later (a condition called DOMS).
There are three main things I look for in a high-grade CBD topical:
- High potency CBD (at least 5 mg per mL)
- The inclusion of other active ingredients
- Reasonable price for the ingredients used
This particular topical ticks two out of three boxes.
It includes broad-spectrum hemp extract along with mint and lavender essential oils (excellent for soothing the skin) and costs around 22 cents per mg of CBD — which is definitely reasonable. I also really like the silky smooth texture.
The only reason I don’t particularly recommend this topical is the low dose of CBD. If you’re going to buy a CBD topical, it might as well deliver a decent dose of CBD. This product only has about 2 mg per mL of cream, which is going to be insufficient for anything beyond the mildest irritation and is not strong enough to provide noticeable relief for pain in deeper tissues like the muscles or joints.
I would recommend this stuff as a daily moisturizer, however.
4. CBD Capsules
Penguin CBD Capsules
4 / 5
|Total CBD:||300 mg|
|Potency:||10 mg per Capsule|
|Cost per mg CBD:||$0.15|
|THC Content:||0 mg|
CBD capsules are a pretty good option for people who don’t want to use oils and want something a little more serious than gummy worms. If you’re already taking a few capsules or pills for your daily supplementation or medication routine, this is perhaps the easiest way to integrate CBD into your health routine.
My caveat with these capsules is the fact that they only contain 10 mg of CBD each. While they’re nice and small, this really isn’t enough of a dose for most people.
I tend to take 30 or 40 mg of CBD at a time, which means I’d need to take 3 or 4 capsules at a time. This is quite a bit, especially if you’re taking other capsules as well.
They’re also a bit expensive. You’ll end up paying around $1.50 per capsule, so a single dose of 2–4 caps can cost between $3 and $6. If you’re like me and take CBD every day, this is going to add up very quickly. You’ll be better off finding capsules that contain higher doses of CBD and cost about half as much — such as the caps from CBDistillery.
Safety & Third-Party Testing
Penguin CBD does a great job at acknowledging the necessity of third-party testing — which they outline in a full blog post on the website. The company also provides a simple user interface to examine the most recent reports for every product type on their website.
Unlike many other CBD companies, they test each oil rather than just the extract that’s used to make the oil. It’s more expensive to do it this way because they need to run more tests — but it’s much more accurate and transparent.
Kudos to Penguin for the level of care and attention they’re dedicating to the testing process.
After reading through about a dozen or so of these tests, there was nothing that stuck out as being a problem. They check for all the tests we’re expecting, which goes above and beyond purely the cannabinoid profiles. They also check for 20 or so common contaminants, organic solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, and mycotoxins or other microbial contaminants.
Penguin’s Shipping & Return Policy
This brand offers a full refund on products returned within 30 days of purchase. It takes about three days to arrive if you live in the United States, which leaves about 27 days to decide whether you like it or not. Even if you’ve opened it, if you decide it isn’t working for you, the process to return it is as follows;
Send an email to [email protected] and tell them you’d like a refund. They’ll email you a return shipping label that covers the cost of the return shipping. Once the package arrives, you’ll get a refund directly onto the card used to buy the product.
At the moment, Penguin CBD only ships within the United States.
Final Verdict: Clean & Simple CBD Products
This company has beautiful branding. The entire user experience when shopping for these oils is excellent, and the bottles that arrive in the mail have a high-quality polish.
I really like the gummy worms. They have an excellent flavor and really nice chewy consistency. It’s really hard to stop at just one, and because of the low dose of CBD for each one, you don’t have to. A dose is anywhere from about 2 to 5 gummies at a time.
The oils are also great quality, but anything less than the 1000 mg bottle isn’t worth the price tag.
If you order the 1000, 2500, or 5000 mg bottles, the price is more on-par with the rest of the industry in the premium range. You can also get an extra 20% off if you sign up for the subscription plan, which can save you a ton of money in the long run.

Due to the major increase in popularity, though, these days, it can be difficult to find some entry-level products for anyone who’s just starting out in the field. That said, looking at some user Penguin CBD reviews, this particular company might just be able to help you out!
While not being a very well-known brand still, Penguin CBD does seemingly bring a lot to the CBD table. Penguin CBD Reviews: PROS
Let’s start off by looking at some of the most positive user Penguin CBD reviews, and see what the company’s outlook on CBD is, in general.
Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil
One of the first things that you’re likely to notice with Penguin’s products (whether it be the Penguin CBD cream, oil, or any other products) is that they are all THC-free.
However, Penguin CBD does not sell CBD isolates. Instead, multiple user Penguin CBD reviews (and also the company’s official website, too) will tell you that Penguin deals in broad-spectrum CBD products.
What’s the difference, you might ask? Well, for starters, CBD isolates, as the name likely implies, contain nothing else but pure cannabidiol. In other words, the end product (whether it be oil, powder, or anything else) does not have any other cannabinoids in its composition – it’s the type of product that’s often studied when it comes to CBD treatment for various health issues , too.
On the other side of the deal, you have your full-spectrum products – ones that contain CBD, and also a wide assortment of other cannabinoids. While these products are the most potent, they do also contain THC – tetrahydrocannabinol. Depending on where it is that you reside, this can cause some serious legal troubles.
Broad-spectrum CBD products are usually considered to be the middle-ground. They do contain some different cannabinoids in their composition, but are still free of THC. That’s exactly what you’d get with the Penguin CBD oil, too.
The company in question deals in broad-spectrum CBD products, in general. This is the perfect option for those who are considering trying CBD out for the first time, and would also like to receive the full experience (entourage effect) while doing so!
Also, it allows you to avoid legal issues if you reside in a state or country that does not permit the usage of anything that has THC within itself. Given that it’s the main cannabinoid that makes you high when smoking marijuana, as you can probably imagine, that would be an extensive list of countries and states!
Yet again, though – Penguin’s products should not breach the federal 0,3% THC mark, so unless your area of residence has a strict zero-THC policy, the company’s products can be considered THC-free.
While the fact that Penguin CBD creates some accessible and beginner-friendly CBD products is nice, it doesn’t really do much, in of itself. In order to know that you can truly trust a CBD brand, you should always look into the place(s) where it sources its hemp from.
The great news here, however, is once again swiftly delivered by multiple user Penguin CBD reviews – Penguin grows their hemp in the state of Oregon, US.
This is what you would consider “locally-grown hemp” – Penguin CBD operates from within the US, and also grows their hemp here, too. The fact that it’s not sourced from some unknown area on the other side of the world is definitely reassuring!
On top of that, though, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) makes sure that all of the hemp grown within the country’s borders falls in accordance with some strict quality and legal regulations. This, in turn, guarantees a certain point of quality with the end products, which in this case are the Penguin CBD oil, Penguin CBD cream, and others.
Third-Party Lab-Tested Products
While there have been multiple studies concerning commercial CBD products and brands that deal in them, one of the most important things to look into from a customer’s perspective would be third-party lab tests.
You see, it’s crucial that a CBD brand would test its products with third-party, independent laboratories. This ensures that all of the amounts of substances (and the actual substances, themselves) are correct and appropriate, and that there’s no foul play or corner-cutting going on.
Some companies, however, do try to trick their clients by testing their products in their own labs. As you can probably imagine, such test results should never be taken seriously, since they aren’t actually independent – there’s bound to be a lot of bias involved.
Not the case with the Penguin CBD oil, though! User Penguin CBD reviews point out the fact that the brand in question actually tests all of their CBD products with an independent laboratory. All of the lab reports can be accessed and viewed at any point in time, too – just scroll down to the end of the page, and you’ll find the link embedded into the footer.
This is very important! Admittedly, you’d find that this is the case with any major CBD provider out there, but given that Penguin is still a very new player in this area (the company started in 2019), it’s truly an amazing way to kick-off your reputation!
GMO- and Pesticide-Free CBD Products, CO2 Extraction Method
Nowadays, an increasing number of companies worldwide are becoming more and more health- and environmentally-conscious. This translates to brands that sell their customers consumable products, too – CBD companies are no exception.
One of the biggest features of how such brands can guarantee their customers only the top-quality produce is by offering oil, cream, gummies, and any other products that were made from GMO-free and organically-grown industrial hemp.
Yet again, customer Penguin CBD reviews will likely tell you that Penguin does, in fact, grow and cultivate such hemp. They use no pesticides or other toxins in the growth and cultivation process, and the earlier-mentioned USDA makes sure that everything is in-line with the highest quality standards.
Definitely a notable feature, and one that adds to the legitimacy of Penguin CBD cream, gummies, and other products!
Very Friendly and Helpful Customer Support
While this isn’t directly related to the products that the company sells, it’s still a point I’d like to emphasize in my Penguin CBD review, especially because I haven’t seen many other customers mention this all that frequently.
I had some questions about a few things relating to Penguin CBD’s oil products. I contacted the company’s customer support, and received my answers very shortly after.
I was impressed by both how fast the brand responded, and by their professionalism! The support agent who got back to me was very kind in explaining everything that I asked them to, and took the time to double-check whether or not I got the answer that I was looking for.
It might seem like a minor factor in the grand scheme of things, but it’s honestly very refreshing to encounter such positive-thinking and helpful people on the other end of the email. Kudos to the Penguin CBD support team!
Penguin CBD Reviews: CONS
Now, we’ve mentioned some of the most notable aspects proclaimed in user Penguin CBD reviews, and discussed how they would benefit you – the potential customer and user.
With that, though, we should also take a good look at the less-positive reviews that the company has garnered over its short lifespan, and check out the reasons behind the complaints, too.
Small Product Variety
One of the first things that you’ll notice when visiting the Penguin CBD official website is the product selection that the company provides.
In short, the brand sells 4 different products – gummies, oil, cream, and capsules.
Some of the most-notable negative user reviews concerning the brand have to do with this very fact. You see, the majority of the best CBD providers in the industry are going to offer their customers a much wider selection of product options.
You’ll find everything from pet products and balms, all the way to vapes or even CBD-infused toothpicks (yes, that’s an actual thing). Naturally, with such a wide variety of options available, you can probably understand why potential customers wouldn’t be all that excited when it comes to the poor selection variety offered by Penguin CBD.
In the company’s defense, though, they’re just starting out! It’s common for new, up-and-coming brands to offer a limited variety of products, and expand their assortment after some time has passed, and they’ve built a solid name for themselves in the industry.
Might Lack Potency for Experienced CBD Users
As pointed out earlier in this Penguin CBD review, the company deals in broad-spectrum CBD products. I’ve also mentioned that it’s the “golden middle”, as far as potency is concerned, too.
Having said that, though, some users claim that the products might not be ideal for people who have been using CBD for quite some time now, and need a higher dosage / stronger potency to feel some kind of an effect.
Truth be told, it’s actually quite individual person-dependent! If you’ve never tried any CBD products before, then Penguin CBD might, in fact, be a great place to start. However, you should also keep the aforementioned user Penguin CBD reviews in mind, too.
That’s especially true for veteran users who are used to, say, full-spectrum products. If you’ve been using full-spectrum CBD for quite some time now, chances are that Penguin’s products might prove to be lackluster, in regards to their potency.
Finally, with all of the major aspects mentioned in customer Penguin CBD reviews all discussed and out of the way, let’s take a look at the actual pricing options of the Penguin CBD oil.
With four different potency options available, the pricing options are:
You can also utilize a subscription plan for a monthly delivery, and save around 20% of money whilst doing so. There are also 5 flavors available, as well – natural, mint, citrus, strawberry, and cookie & cream.
All things considered, even though some Penguin CBD reviews do point out the smaller potency of the products offered and sold by the brand, the price tags are actually quite adequate! Considering the broad-spectrum nature of the products, and their organic & GMO-free origin, it’s definitely worth the money!
On top of that, it’s also worth mentioning that Penguin CBD has a 30-day refund policy in place, too. It’s also one of the benefits mentioned in some customer Penguin CBD reviews – if you’re not satisfied with your purchase, you can return it for up to 30 days after you buy it.
Also, Penguin CBD offers free shipping options in the US. Since you won’t have to pay for shipping, it makes the purchase that much more affordable!
